Website Migration FAQs.
Answers to some of the most common questions about website migrations and how we can help.
Yes. We handle full website migrations, including content, media, redirects, integrations, and other important website components so the new site is properly prepared before launch.
Yes. SEO preservation is an important part of our migration process. We review the existing URL structure, map 301 redirects, carry over important metadata, review canonical tags, and help make sure search engines can properly understand the new website structure.
Yes. We can migrate ecommerce data including product titles, descriptions, images, variants, pricing, collections, and other product information. Customer records and order history can also be considered when the destination platform supports that data.
Yes. Quality assurance and testing are built into our migration process. We review links, redirects, forms, navigation, integrations, responsive layouts, ecommerce functionality, tracking, and other important website features before the new site goes live.
Yes. Little Opus can provide post-launch support to address issues that appear after the migration, monitor the new website, make adjustments, and continue with ongoing website management and development.
The timeline depends on the size of the website, the amount of content and data being moved, the destination platform, custom functionality, integrations, and testing requirements. We review the existing website first so the migration can be properly scoped before work begins.
We work with migrations involving platforms such as WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, and other website systems. We can also handle migrations between different platforms, such as moving an ecommerce website from WooCommerce to Shopify or rebuilding an existing site in WordPress.
We generally build and test the new website separately while the existing website remains live. When the new site is ready, we coordinate the launch and DNS or platform changes to help minimize disruption and keep the transition as controlled as possible.
Yes. A migration can include Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, forms, marketing tools, ecommerce services, APIs, and other third-party integrations. We review these connections during the migration so important systems are not overlooked when the new website launches.
